The Practice

The Center for Skin & Thyroid is a unique practice that has evolved over the past 40 years. It was originally started as a dermatological practice, but has changed to a practice that can take of a patients appearance and well-being. We have remained an independent practice in Winchester, Kentucky, that aims to serve our patients and their needs.

Marvin E. Bishop, M.D. - Emeritus

The practice was initially established by Dr. Marvin E. Bishop. Dr. Bishop is a board-certified dermatologist, who received his training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX. He provided exemplary care to the community of Winchester, KY for 40 years until his retirement in December 2018.

Marvin A. Bishop, M.D., M.B.A.

Dr. Marvin (as he is known around the office) is a triple board-certified physician with an extensive medical background. He was fortunate to train at a U.S. top-20 Endocrine training program. He has also had the opportunity to train with multiple, renowned dermatologists/surgeons to provide excellent skin treatment.

Dr. Marvin uses his internal medicine/endocrine training, along with his training in skin issues to provide excellent care for his patients. Due to his broad and extensive training, he can often identify internal medical problems that may present with skin findings.

He also decided to pursue an M.B.A. from a top-20 M.B.A. program at the prestigious Kelley School of Business, to improve his management skill-set while delivering exemplary medical care.

His primary interests are in skin cancer therapy/removal, thyroid disease, and complicated skin diseases. He has removed close to 10,000 lesions over his career.
